Tour of Local Markets + Trip to an Indigenous Community

We will meet at 8 am at Silvia's main park to begin our tour of this charming Colombian city and its surroundings.

We will first visit a farmer's market filled with local products for an hour, observing the vibrant atmosphere. Participants will have the opportunity to sample local treats such as fruit and bread before proceeding to a handicraft market featuring jewelry, embroidery, hats, and other items for souvenirs.

Following shopping, we'll board a minibus to an orchard cultivated by the Misak people. Here, we will learn about the customs and traditions of this pre-Hispanic indigenous community with demonstrations from local residents about their agricultural practices. We will also visit a local house to understand the Misak lifestyle.

Our next stop will be the Casa Payán Cultural Center, where we will discuss the significance of plants in Misak culture and their use for medicinal treatments. Participants will also have the chance to try a locally-made traditional drink.

Next, we will head to Belen hill for panoramic views of Silvia. Participants should prepare their cameras.

We will conclude the tour between 2 and 3 pm at the starting point.
