Excursion to Yanahuanca, Huarautambo, Astobamba & Villo

Your adventure will commence at 9 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cerro de Pasco, where we will embark on a full-day exploration of the key highlights in the central highlands of Peru.

Our first destination is the picturesque town of Yanahuanca, a scenic drive of two hours through the enchanting Chaupihuaranga Valley. Upon our arrival, we will stroll around the main square, which features the colonial-era Church of San Pedro, and explore its lively avenues.

Next, we will head to the nearby Inca archaeological site of Huarautambo, where we can marvel at historic structures like Inca Wasi (the Inca Palace) and Phaqcha, a ceremonial altar.

Continuing our exploration, we'll traverse its stone archway leading into the renowned Inca Trail that connects various significant locations across Peru, eventually reaching the sparkling waterfalls nestled within the archaeological zone. Afterward, we will make our way to Astobamba, which is accessible via an ancient Inca bridge. This site showcases the Wari culture's reverence for water, featuring impressive fountains, aqueducts, and bridges dating back to pre-Inca times.

After our tour of Astobamba, you will have some free time for lunch. This will be followed by a visit to the historical thermal baths of Villo, known since pre-Incan times. Here, you will discover the therapeutic benefits of its volcanic mineral-rich waters, abundant in sulfur, iron, and silicon, and have the opportunity to experience their rejuvenating effects.

To conclude our day, we will return to Cerro de Pasco and drop you off at your hotel by 6 pm.
