National Palace of Queluz + Gardens
The National Palace of Queluz, located in Sintra, was built in Baroque style by Peter III during his infancy. It became a royal palace after his marriage to Princess Mary. French architect Jean-Baptiste Robillion remodeled the palace, drawing inspiration from the Palace of Versailles. For centuries, it served as a center of the Portuguese court, hosting various events. Today, it functions as a residence for visiting foreign heads of State.
The palace gardens feature fountains and mythological sculptures, exemplifying landscape harmony. They also host the School of Equestrian Art, which received the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage and the Europa Nostra Award in 2018.
This ticket allows access to significant historical sites within the palace, including the Throne Room, Music Room, and Ambassadors Room, along with the royal chambers.
