National Palace of Queluz + Gardens
The National Palace of Queluz, located in Sintra, was built in Baroque style by order of Peter III. Following his marriage to Princess Mary, it became a royal palace.
The palace was remodeled by architect Jean-Baptiste Robillion, inspired by the famous Palace of Versailles. For centuries, Queluz was central to the Portuguese court, hosting numerous events. Today, it serves as a residence for visiting foreign heads of state.
The palace gardens feature fountains and mythological sculptures, exemplifying landscape harmony, and currently house the School of Equestrian Art. This site received the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage in 2018.
Your ticket allows access to significant historical sites such as the Throne Room, Music Room, Ambassadors Room, and various royal chambers.
