National Palace of Queluz + Gardens

The National Palace of Queluz is located in Sintra and was built in Baroque style by order of Peter III. After his marriage to Princess Mary, it became a royal palace. The palace was remodeled by French architect Jean-Baptiste Robillion to resemble the Palace of Versailles. Queluz served as the center of the Portuguese court for centuries, hosting various events. It currently serves as a residence for visiting foreign heads of State.

The gardens feature fountains and mythological sculptures, exemplifying landscape harmony. They also house the School of Equestrian Art, which received the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage and the Europa Nostra Award in 2018.

Your ticket grants access to historical areas, including the Throne Room, Music Room, and Ambassadors Room, along with royal chambers and other rooms.
