Palace of Monserrate Ticket
With this ticket, you can visit the Palace of Monserrate and its renowned English landscape-style garden, one of the most beautiful in Portugal. The Palace was constructed in the 19th century on the site of the hermitage of Nossa Senhora de Monserrate by the English nobleman Francis Cook, who integrated Gothic, Oriental, and Mozarabic elements. The location became a center for the 19th-century social life of both the Portuguese and English aristocracy. Notable visitors included British writers such as Lord Byron, who referenced Monserrate in his poem Childe Harold's Pilgrimage. The park continues to attract visitors eager to explore its winding paths, lakes, and waterfalls, along with over 3,000 species of exotic plants.
Opening Times
The Park and Palace of Monserrate are open Monday to Sunday at the following times:
Palace: 9:30 am to 6 pm, with the final admission at 5 pmPark: 9 am to 7 pm, with the final admission at 6 pm
On December 31, the monuments will close at 1 pm. Please note that these schedules are subject to change.
