Activity Details

We'll meet you at the Amethys store in Luosto at your chosen time. The guide starts by giving a brief presentation on the basic techniques for wilderness skiing. Then it's time to begin our experience of Lapland's favorite sport!

We'll put on our skis, grab our poles, and head into the winter wonderland of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. As we make our way through this breathtaking, pristine white wilderness, you will be overwhelmed by a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility.

Wilderness skiing is an essential part of Finnish culture and children learn it as soon as they start walking. We'll stop at a campsite to rest and regain our strength, sipping a tasty hot drink next to a warm fire.

Then, it is time to return to the original starting point, where the activity finishes after two and a half hours.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You will meet your guide at the Amethys store in Luosto at your chosen time. The guide will provide a brief introduction to the basics of wilderness skiing, preparing you for the adventure ahead. After fitting your skis and poles, you will enter the scenic Pyhä-Luosto National Park.

This tour offers a unique insight into Finnish culture, as wilderness skiing is a skill passed down through generations. During the activity, you will take a break at a campsite where you can relax and enjoy a hot drink by the fire. The entire experience lasts approximately two and a half hours, including all necessary stops.
