Tour Overview

We will convene at Vasil Levski Square in Sofia at 8:45 am before boarding our bus for a scenic 2-hour ride to Bulgaria’s oldest continuously inhabited city.

Upon reaching Plovdiv, you’ll be amazed by the multitude of well-preserved ancient sites. Designated as the European Capital of Culture in 2019, this city south of Sofia is rich in history and architectural treasures.

Wander through the quaint cobblestone streets of the stunning old town, where breathtaking views await at the summit of three prominent hills.

The standout feature of Plovdiv is its 2nd-century Roman amphitheatre, one of the most significant structures from the Ancient Roman Empire. Our knowledgeable guide will lead you into this remarkable site, sharing intriguing insights about its past.

Next, we will visit the beautiful Dzhumaya Mosque, notable for its nine domes and an interior fountain framed by four elegant pillars. You'll then have some free time to savor local cuisine or explore the shops in the area.

After a day filled with unforgettable experiences, we will return to our starting point between 5 and 5:30 pm.
