Join us on a trip to Rila Monastery and Seven Lakes to experience notable landscapes in Bulgaria and a significant medieval monument.
Description
We'll meet at the indicated time at Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Square and depart for Rila National Park. Our first stop will be the resort town of Panichishte, where we will take a cable car to the mountain summit.
At over 6,500 feet above sea level, we will embark on a 5-hour hike to the Seven Lakes, the main attraction of the park. Our guide will share insights about the unique environment as we visit each of the impressive lakes.
After our hike, we will proceed to the medieval Rila Monastery, an important architectural site. You will learn about its history while exploring the grounds, including the tomb of Boris III, the last Bulgarian king.
At the conclusion of the visit, we will return to Sofia, dropping you off at Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Square.
