Sofia Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and begin our guided tour of Sofia. Inside this building, the second-largest cathedral in the Balkans, we will learn about its namesake, a Russian prince.
We will also visit the Church of Saint George, the oldest building in Sofia, constructed by the Romans over the ruins of a Pagan temple in the ancient city of Serdica.
Next, we will go to Saint Sofia Church, a symbol of the Bulgarian capital since its construction in the 6th century.
Our exploration will continue at The Largo, featuring three Stalinist buildings, including the former House of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria, and the President's Office.
Other highlights include the Parliament, the former Royal Palace, and the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, the most important theatre in Bulgaria and noted for its architectural beauty.
After a 2-hour guided tour of Sofia and its key sights, we will conclude our tour in the city centre.
