Sofia Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and start our guided tour of Sofia. Inside this building, the second-largest cathedral in the Balkans, we'll learn about its connection to a Russian prince.
We will also visit the Church of Saint George, regarded as Sofia's oldest building, constructed by the Romans on the ruins of a Pagan temple in the ancient city of Serdica.
Next, we proceed to Saint Sofia Church, a significant symbol of the Bulgarian capital since its construction in the 6th century.
Our exploration of Bulgaria's history continues at The Largo, which consists of three Stalinist buildings, including the former House of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria, and the President's Office.
Additional highlights include the Parliament, the former Royal Palace, and the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, an important cultural venue and one of the city's most striking buildings.
After a 2-hour guided tour of Sofia and its essential sights, we'll conclude in the city centre.
