Sofia Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral to commence our guided tour of Sofia. Inside this building, the second-largest cathedral in the Balkans, we will explore its historical significance linked to a Russian prince.
Our tour will include a visit to the Church of Saint George, noted as Sofia's oldest building, constructed by the Romans atop a Pagan temple in the ancient city of Serdica.
We will then proceed to Saint Sofia Church, a symbol of the Bulgarian capital since the 6th century.
Continuing our exploration of Bulgaria's history, we will visit The Largo, composed of three Stalinist buildings: the former House of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria, and the President's Office.
Additional highlights include the Parliament, the former Royal Palace, and the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, the most significant theatre in Bulgaria and a notable architectural site.
After a 2-hour guided tour covering Sofia and its key attractions, we will conclude in the city centre.
