Day Trip to Isla Holbox

You'll be picked up from your hotel in Riviera Maya in the morning and headed to the Chiquilá port. Upon arrival, board a small boat to begin your journey to Isla Holbox, situated on the northern coast of the peninsula.

The first stop will be at a stunning beach on the west coast of Holbox, where you'll have 45 minutes to relax under the Caribbean sun.

Next, depart this serene location to visit Isla Pasión (Passion Island), a small island with beautiful pristine beaches and an array of bird species. Here, you can enjoy some free time to explore or relax at the viewpoint offering exceptional views of the island.

The journey continues to Punta Mosquito, an impressive pristine beach accessible only from the sea. Between March and October, you may be fortunate to observe the pink flamingoes that utilize this area for breeding as they migrate to South America.

Afterward, a local restaurant by the beach offers a chance to refuel. Enjoy a delicious lunch typical of the region. Post-lunch, you will have roughly 1.5 hours to relax on the beach or visit the nearby town of Holbox at your own leisure, just a short walk away.

After a delightful day immersed in the nature and tranquility of Holbox, you'll return to the port of Chiquilá, from where transportation back to your hotel will be provided.

Tours on Mondays and Thursdays

Please be aware that if you take the tour on a Monday or Thursday, the itinerary will undergo slight modifications. The tour will be conducted by speedboat rather than a traditional boat, and the first swimming stop will be omitted. Instead, you’ll go directly to Isla Pasión to enjoy a delicious breakfast followed by an hour of free time.

Following this, there will be a brief stop at Punta Mosquito before arriving in Holbox, where you'll have 3 hours of free time to relax on the beach or sample local cuisine at your own pace. The excursion will conclude with a visit to the beautiful Yalahu Cenote.

This activity lasts approximately eight hours.

Itinerary Adjustments

Please note that for organizational reasons, the order of activities may change. If your tour is scheduled on a day other than Monday or Thursday, the Punta Mosquito visit may be replaced with a visit to Isla Pájaros or the Yalahau Cenote, depending on weather conditions.

Flamingo Watching

Although it is common to observe a substantial population of pink flamingos in this area between March and October, these animals are wild and their appearance cannot be guaranteed.
