The tour begins with a meeting at the Valle de Lago car park at the scheduled time. A mountain guide will provide a safety briefing about navigating the icy landscapes. After the talk, participants will equip themselves with necessary gear and commence the hike using snowshoes. The route includes a walk up the valley, featuring winter landscapes with typical "teitos" huts native to the Asturian mountains and their history.

The ascent lasts approximately two hours, reaching an altitude of 1558 metres (5111 feet) at the Lake of the Valley, the largest natural lake in Asturias. The lake will be observed in a snowy and icy state, encircled by mountains.

A break will be taken for participants to enjoy the scenery and have a snack. Afterward, the group will head to the 'Cobrana Teito' for panoramic views of the lake. If weather conditions are poor, the return will be by the same route. If conditions allow, the forest path will be taken to appreciate the snowy beech forests and the biodiversity of the Somiedo council.

The excursion lasts five hours, concluding with a return to the Valle de Lago car park.

Participants can choose to book an option that includes the rental of poles and snowshoes, or opt for a booking without rental if they have their own equipment.
