Snowshoeing Tour in the Valle de Lago

The tour begins at the Valle de Lago car park at the scheduled time. A mountain guide will provide a safety briefing for walking through the icy terrains at an altitude of 1280 metres (4199 feet) in the Asturian council of Somiedo. After the briefing, necessary equipment will be provided, and the group will start the hike using snowshoes. The route leads up the valley, featuring winter landscapes and traditional "teitos", the huts of the Asturian mountains.

The ascent takes approximately two hours, reaching an altitude of 1558 metres (5111 feet) at the Lake of the Valley, the largest natural lake in Asturias, covered with snow and ice. A break will be taken here for participants to enjoy the scenery and have a snack. The next stop is the 'Cobrana Teito' for panoramic views of the lake.

If weather conditions are poor, the return will follow the same path. If conditions allow, the group will take the forest path to experience the snowy beech forests and biodiversity of Somiedo. The excursion lasts about five hours, concluding back at the Valle de Lago car park.

Participants can book the option that includes the rental of poles and snowshoes, or choose the option without rental if they have their own equipment.
