Somiedo Natural Park Hiking Activity

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Valle de Lago car park and set off on our hiking activity in the beautiful Somiedo Natural Park in Asturias.

We'll head into this protected natural area via a straight and ascending path. During our route, we'll walk among alder buckthorn and pastures, as well as the typical teito cabins found in this part of Asturias. You'll see these traditional dwellings throughout the whole hike.

The Somiedo Nature Reserve has been declared a Biosphere Reserve due to its flora, fauna, and ethnography. After ascending for around 2 hours, we'll reach the Lago del Valle, which is nestled between the rugged mountains. We'll head to the Cobrana cabin, which has views of the Lago del Valle lake. Afterwards, we'll continue walking through the beech forest and observing the local wildlife.

It'll then be time to head back to Valle de Lago, where we'll arrive 4 hours after the start of the activity, having enjoyed a day surrounded by nature.
