Trip Details

Day 1: El Djem – Matmata – Douz

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sousse to start our 2-day trip visiting the best of Tunisia.

The first stop will be the El Djem amphitheatre, also known as the Tunisian Coliseum. We'll walk around its arena while learning about its history and gladiatorial fights.

The tour continues to Matmata, where we'll visit the famous cave-houses, an ancient Amazigh settlement carved into the rock for shelter from the desert heat. In Matmata, we'll have approximately one hour of free time for lunch (not included).

Next, we'll head towards the Douz desert, where we'll admire the Sahara's grandeur and have the opportunity to try a quad or camel ride (not included).

We'll conclude the day at a Douz hotel for dinner and rest until the next day.

Day 2: Douz – Chott Djerid – Oasis - Kairouan

In the morning, you'll have breakfast in one of the local cafes before heading to Chott El Djerid, a large salt lake covering 5000 square meters, known for its mirages.

Then we will visit the Atlas mountain range, including the oasis of Chebika and Tamerza. The last stop will be Kairouan, where we'll visit the Great Mosque to admire its exterior and learn about its significance in Islam.

The tour will conclude with your return to the hotel in Sousse.
