Hiking to the Bauxite Mines of Apulia

At your chosen time, we will meet at the Azienda del Cavone on the outskirts of Spinazzola to begin our hiking route to the bauxite mines of Apulia.

This hike will take us through the National Park of Alta Murgia, where we will explore the historical bauxite extraction process that once significantly contributed to the region's economy.

Throughout the tour, we will observe the bright red tones of bauxite minerals set against the green of the Aleppo pines and cypress forests. Panoramic views will showcase the natural beauty of the area.

As we progress, we will also encounter the golden wheat fields of the Bradano Valley, extending to the Lucan Apennines.

The hike will last approximately 3 hours, concluding at the initial meeting point.
