Hiking to the Bauxite Mines of Apulia

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at the Azienda del Cavone. From this location on the outskirts of Spinazzola, we'll start a hiking route to the bauxite mines of Apulia.

We'll walk through an area of the National Park of Alta Murgia and learn about the bauxite extraction process that was significant for the region's economy.

During the tour, we'll observe the bauxite minerals alongside the green forests of Aleppo pines and cypresses. Panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes will be highlights of the hike.

As we traverse this environment, we'll also see the wheat fields of the Bradano Valley, extending to the Lucan Apennines.

We will conclude the hiking route after approximately 3 hours back at the meeting point.
