Maroon Town Day Trip
Pickup is scheduled for 10 am from your hotel in Ocho Ríos as we head east towards Charles Town.
After a scenic journey of approximately one hour and a half, we will arrive at this traditional Maroon town. Our first stop will be the Charles Town Maroon Museum, where you will learn about the history of the Jamaican Maroons.
The Maroons were brought from Africa as slaves and rebelled against the British colonisers. Throughout the day, you will find out more about their history and various intriguing facts.
Music is a crucial element of this community's culture, as well as that of the entire country. During the trip, you will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional dancing, encouraging participation.
Following the dancing, we will proceed to the Buff Bay River for a refreshing swim.
Before returning to Ocho Ríos, we will visit a local restaurant for a traditional lunch (not included). The return to your hotel is expected around 3 pm.
