Interested to find out what a cage is doing in the middle of Montego Bay? Go on a guided tour around the famous Jamaican city and discover its history and main monuments.
Montego Bay Walking Tour
After picking you up from your hotel or the Montego Bay cruise port, we'll set off on a walking tour through the city's historic centre.
We'll visit Saint James Parish, the most important church in Montego Bay. Its grey stone exterior contrasts with the bright colours in the rest of the city, where the blue of the sea blends with the green mountains.
In Sam Sharp Square, we'll see a sculpture that pays homage to this slave who was named Jamaica's national hero. We'll learn about his achievements during the tour.
We'll also walk past The Cage, a 19th-century prison that held slaves, drunks, and rebellious sailors, and we'll learn about life in Jamaica 200 years ago. Then, we'll visit the local handicraft market for shopping at various stalls.
Next, a panoramic view of Montego Bay from Richmond Hill will provide a picture-postcard image of the Jamaican coast.
Afterwards, we'll head to the outskirts of the city to admire the exterior of Rose Hall mansion, associated with the legend of the ghost of Annie Palmer. You'll learn about the mysteries surrounding this haunted mansion during the tour.
At the end of the tour, we'll return you to your hotel and cruise ships.
