Itaipu Dam and Saltos del Monday Day Trip

On this day trip to Paraguay, we'll cross the border from Brazil to visit the Itaipu Dam and the Saltos del Monday waterfalls.

Description

On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu at the indicated time. We will cross the Paraná River to reach Paraguay.

Our first stop will be Ciudad del Este, where we'll visit the Tierra Guaraní Museum to explore the history of the local indigenous people and the region's transformation since the arrival of early settlers.

Next, we'll travel to Hernandarias to visit the Itaipu Dam hydroelectric power plant, located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, known as one of the largest in the world.

We will then visit the Saltos del Monday waterfalls, the most famous in Paraguay, plunging from a height of 40 metres (131 feet). We'll stop at viewpoints to enjoy the falls and take photos.

Before returning to Brazil, we will stop at the Mercado de Abastos market in Ciudad del Este for a drink or snack. We will arrive back at your hotel approximately 7.5 hours after pickup.
