Itaipu Dam and Saltos del Monday Day Trip

On this day trip to Paraguay, we'll cross the border from Brazil to visit the Itaipu Dam and the Saltos del Monday waterfalls.

Description

On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu at the specified time. We will cross the Paraná River to reach Paraguay.

Our first stop will be Ciudad del Este, where we will visit the Tierra Guaraní Museum to learn about the local indigenous history and the region's transformation since early settlement.

Next, we will visit the Itaipu Dam, located on the border between Brazil and Paraguay, one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world.

We will continue to the Saltos del Monday waterfalls, the most famous in Paraguay, with a height of 40 metres (131 feet). We will stop at prime viewpoints for photos.

Our final stop will be at the Mercado de Abastos in Ciudad del Este for a drink or snack before returning to Brazil.

We will arrive back at your hotel approximately 7.5 hours after the pickup.
