Tour Details
We'll meet at 11 am on St John Street ready to start our tour of the old town.
Our first stop will be at the famous Stirling Castle, an important fortress in Scotland historically and architecturally. Many Scottish kings and queens have lived within its walls, including Mary Queen of Scots.
Next, we will visit the Holy Rude Church, where King James VI, son of Mary Stuart, was crowned King of Scots in 1567. We will also explore Stirling Cemetery to uncover more notable figures from the city's history.
Then, we will visit the Stirling Old Town Jail. In 1847, the Victorian Tolbooth Jail became overcrowded and was deemed the worst prison in Britain. It has since been reformed and restored. You can enter its walls to learn about the conditions faced by prisoners. We will explore many other key sites in Stirling, but you need to join us to discover more about this fascinating city.
Finally, after one and a half hours of exploring, we will end the tour.
