Tour Details
We'll meet at 11 am on St John Street to start our tour of the old town.
Our first stop will be the famous Stirling Castle, a key fortress in Scotland's history and architecture, where many Scottish kings and queens, including Mary Queen of Scots, resided.
Next, we'll visit the Holy Rude Church, the site where King James VI was crowned King of Scots in 1567. After that, we will head to Stirling Cemetery to discover more about notable figures from the city's past.
We will also visit the Stirling Old Town Jail, originally the overcrowded Victorian old Tolbooth Jail, which was rated the worst prison in Britain in 1847. The jail has been reformed and restored, allowing visitors to learn about the conditions prisoners faced. We will explore other significant sites in Stirling as well.
After one and a half hours of exploring, we'll conclude the tour.
