Uppsala Private Day Trip from Stockholm
We will pick you up from your hotel in central Stockholm to begin an exciting day trip to Uppsala. This city has a rich historical legacy, having hosted royal coronations and funerals.
Our first stop will be the Uppsala Cathedral, built in 1273, the largest cathedral in Scandinavia and the seat of the Swedish archbishop.
After a 30-minute exploration of the cathedral, we will visit Gamla Uppsala, where we will have one hour of free time to explore the Viking-era archaeological site. Here, you can see significant burial mounds and visit the on-site museum to learn more about Sweden's Viking past. Notable graves include that of Anders Celsius.
Next, we will head to Uppsala Castle, a 16th-century building, where we will spend one hour learning about the Sture murders and enjoying free time for lunch at local restaurants.
Our final stop will be Uppsala University, established in 1477, where we will have a 20-minute visit to explore the main building, completed in 1887 in neoclassical style.
After 7 hours of exploration, we will return you to your hotel in Stockholm, concluding the day.
