To truly experience Stresa, embarking on this delightful boat journey to the Borromean Islands is essential, as it represents one of the most picturesque regions in Italy's Piedmont.

This ticket offers you unlimited access to the boat for an entire day. The ferry serves the three primary islands: Isola Madre (Mother Island), Isola Bella (Beautiful Island), and Isola dei Pescatori (Fishermen's Island). Each island possesses its own unique appeal and features. You can visit remarkable sites like an expansive botanical garden, the Borromeo Palace, and the palace on Bella Island – it's entirely up to you!

The itinerary for the boat leaving from Stresa is as follows: the first stop is Isola Madre, followed by Isola dei Pescatori, and then Isola Bella. After completing these stops, the boat returns to Stresa and the journey resumes. If you wish to travel from Isola dei Pescatori back to Isola Madre, you will need to return to Stresa and await the next sailing without disembarking.

Times & frequency

The passenger boat operates daily from March to November, with departures roughly every 30 minutes between 9:30 am and 6 pm.

Please note:

To visit all three islands, ensure you take the last boat at 1:45 pm.The last boat suitable for reaching Isola Madre (the first stop) departs at 2:50 pm.The entrances to the gardens and palaces on Isola Bella and Isola Madre (entry fee not included) are available from March 15 to November 5.Schedules may be adjusted and are subject to change.

How it works

This ticket grants you all-day access to the boat service that navigates from Stresa to the Borromean Islands. You can board and disembark at any designated stop during the operating hours. However, it’s important to note that your initial boarding must occur during the time slot you selected at the time of booking.

Partial closures

Please be aware that starting from November 2, the museums and gardens on Isla Bella and Isla Madre will no longer be open to visitors.
