Description

At 6:30 pm, we'll meet at Piazza Guglielmo Marconi in Stresa. From there, we'll go to the pier and start a boat ride on Lake Maggiore.

The first part of the trip will focus on exploring the coast of the Borromean Islands. We will sail by the islet of San Giovanni, admire the botanical gardens of Isola Madre, see the 17th-century palace on Isola Bella, and cruise around Isola dei Pescatori ('Fisherman's Island').

As we sail, we will also view the elegant villas of Baveno and the gardens of Verbania. After leaving Piedmont and moving toward Lombardy, we'll see the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, a 14th-century monastery on a cliff, notable for its 15-meter-high bell tower.

At 7:30 pm, the boat ride will conclude at the starting point.
