Cordillera de los Frailes Hiking Tour
At 8:30 am, we will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the town of Chataquila, which is 30 kilometers from central Sucre. Upon arrival, we will begin a two-hour hike through the Cordillera de los Frailes, a mountain range dividing the departments of Chuquisaca and Potosi.
During the hike, we will make several stops to see the area's highlights. The first stop will be the cave paintings of Inka Mach'ay, dated to around 2,500 years ago, showcasing human and geometric figures. Next, we will visit the cave of Pumamachay, which features cave paintings in black.
As we proceed through the Cordillera, we will enjoy views of the Chataquila mountain range. Afterward, we will have a picnic lunch before heading to one of the local villages, where our bus will be waiting for us.
We will also stop at the Tazón viewpoint for panoramic views of the Maragua Crater and its colors. Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Sucre at 2:30 pm.
