Maragua Crater Hike
At 8:30 am, we'll meet you at your hotel in Sucre and head towards the village of Chataquila. Our first stop will be at the chapel, where Tomás Katari, the leader of the Indigenous Peoples' guerillas, died.
Next, we'll embark on a 2-hour hike along the Inca Trail of Chataquila, observing the scenery and learning about the medicinal properties of local plants like muña and wira wira.
We will then arrive at the village of Chaunaca, from where we'll take a bus to the Maragua Crater. Here, we'll explore this ancient geological formation while enjoying the fresh air.
Additionally, we will visit local houses to learn about the community's agricultural and textile production. After this, we will take a break for a picnic lunch.
Following lunch, we'll start our return to Sucre, stopping at a viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Bolivian countryside, arriving back at your hotel by 3:30 pm.
