Half-Day Experience

Your adventure will begin with a pickup from your hotel in Sucre, followed by a scenic drive towards the Quechua village of Tarabuco. En route, take in the rugged beauty of the Bolivian plains.

Are you aware that Tarabuco is renowned for its traditional market? Every Sunday, numerous families from the Yampara Indigenous community, rooted in Quechua heritage, gather at the marketplace to showcase their goods.

In addition to the vibrant traditional attire of the Yampara people, the age-old practice of bartering still thrives here. During our day trip, we will uncover this time-honored tradition along with many other cultural aspects.

As we wander through the market, we'll have the chance to explore various stalls offering food, textiles, and handicrafts, all while learning about the rich history of the Yampara civilization.

After four hours in Tarabuco, we will make our way back to Sucre.

Full-Day Experience

If you wish to extend your time in Tarabuco, opt for the full-day experience. Following your hotel pickup in Sucre, we will embark on a drive lasting around 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Tarabuco.

Upon arrival at the Tarabuco Market, mingling with visitors from the Yampara Indigenous community awaits you. This vibrant market is truly one of the most colorful scenes to behold! You'll observe how Yampara families, dressed in their traditional garments, attend each Sunday.

Here, they trade, barter, and purchase local products and crafts. Once we've explored the various stalls, we will pause at a nearby restaurant to refuel. A delightful lunch will be served, featuring an appetizer, a main dish, and dessert.

Our enriching 6-hour excursion will conclude as we return to Sucre, and we hope to see you again soon!
