At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel to begin this tour of the churches of Sucre, a city known for its significant religious architectural heritage.
The tour will start at the Recoleta Monastery, located in the Recoleta neighborhood. This complex, including a church and museum, was founded by Franciscan monks in 1601. We'll walk through its cloisters, seeing an ancient tree and views of the Churuquella hill. Inside the church, we'll admire a wood-carved choir and a collection of colonial and republican paintings.
The next stop will be at the convent of Santa Clara, where we will observe paintings by notable Bolivian artists, wooden sculptures, and a 17th-century organ used for significant ceremonies.
Following this, we'll visit the convent of San Felipe Neri, showcasing the wealth of colonial society. From its terraces, we will enjoy a panoramic view of the bell towers that characterize Sucre's skyline.
After a 4-hour tour of Sucre's churches, we'll return you to your hotel.
