Lake Suesca Horse Riding Tour
The horseback excursion to Lake Suesca begins at 9 am at the Sisga dam in Chocontá. Participants will enjoy a ride through the Sisga River valley towards Lake Suesca, covering a distance of 35 kilometers (21 miles). Prior to starting, there will be a briefing on the activity and basic safety rules.
Riders will traverse potato fields and arrive at a designated spot on the lake's shores for a picnic lunch. Following the lunch break, the group will take a different route back while skirting the lake and passing the historic northern railway station, which operated until the mid-20th century and is over 3100 meters (10,170 feet) in altitude.
The tour includes a descent through Lechuza Canyon, near Suesca, with a stop at a hostel to enjoy coffee or snacks. The excursion concludes back at the meeting point at 5 pm.
