Take a tour through the desert of Sonora along the Apache Trail, the historic stagecoach route that began as an Indian pathway. Visit the ghost towns of Goldfield and Tortilla Flat, and learn about the legend of the treasure hidden in the Superstition Mountains.
Apache Trail Tour
We'll collect you from the meeting point in Phoenix and then head out along the Apache Trail. Our first stop is at the Superstition Mountains, where you will hear about the legend of hidden treasure in these hills.
Continuing along the route, we will visit the ghost town of Goldfield, preserved as it was over a century ago. Here, you will have the opportunity to try panning for gold using traditional methods of the old prospectors.
Next, we will proceed to Canyon Lake, where we board the Dolly Steamboat. The vessel will cruise along the lake for 6 miles, allowing you to watch bighorn sheep, bald eagles, and other desert animals along the shores.
Our adventure concludes with a visit to the city of Tortilla Flat, the last remaining stagecoach stop on the Apache Trail, which retains its original architecture and frontier traditions.
We'll finally return to Phoenix where the tour finishes.
