Take a tour through the desert of Sonora along the Apache Trail, a historic stagecoach route originating from an ancient Indian pathway. Visit the ghost towns of Goldfield and Tortilla Flat, and learn about the legend of treasure hidden in the Superstition Mountains.
Apache Trail Tour
We will collect you from the meeting point in Phoenix and head along the Apache Trail. The first stop is at the Superstition Mountains, where you will hear about the hidden treasure legend in these hills.
We continue along the route that historically guided Indians and later served for stagecoaches. The next stop is the preserved ghost town of Goldfield, where you can try panning for gold using traditional methods.
Next, we head to Canyon Lake to board the Dolly Steamboat. The vessel will cruise for 6 miles along tranquil waters, allowing you to observe bighorn sheep, bald eagles, and other desert animals.
The adventure concludes with a visit to Tortilla Flat, the last remaining stagecoach stop on the Apache Trail, which retains its original architecture and traditions. We will then return to Phoenix, where the tour finishes.
