Head into the Verde Valley and discover its mining tradition in Jerome and take a ride aboard the Verde Canyon train. We'll also visit the Montezuma and Tuzigoot monuments!

Jerome Tour + Verde Canyon Train

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Phoenix at 6:30 am to start our route through the Verde Valley, with panoramic views of Mingus Mountain and the Mogollon Rim.

Our first stop is Montezuma Castle National Monument, a well-preserved site in the Hohokam area, with over 700 years of history. From here, we'll head to Tuzigoot National Monument, also built by the Hohokam tribe.

Next, we will visit Jerome, known for its rich mining tradition, producing minerals since 1800. We will explore its historic streets and learn why it was called the Wickedest City in the West.

The tour continues on the Verde Canyon train, where you can enjoy unique views of Verde Valley from comfortable seats, alongside a snack while learning about the railroad's history, which dates back over 100 years. At nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, you can enjoy lunch as we pass beautiful Sedona and the Verde River.

After this experience, we will return to Phoenix and accompany you back to your hotel, arriving around 6:30 pm.
