Skaftafell Ice Cave Tour & Glacier Hike

  • 4 Stunden

Enter a world of ice and snow: discover the wonder of Iceland's blue ice cave and hike over the Vatnajökull Glacier.

Skaftafell Ice Cave Tour & Glacier Hike

On the day of your tour, meet your guide at the Skaftafell base, where you will receive the specialist equipment necessary for the tour, including a helmet, harness, ice pick, and crampons. The trek through Skaftafell National Park will lead you to the Vatnajökull Glacier.

As the largest glacier in Iceland and Europe outside the Arctic, hiking over it is notable. You will explore the uneven terrain and observe various ice formations created by underlying volcanic activity and the glacier's movement.

After the hike, visit the stunning blue ice cave beneath the glacier. The cave's icy walls exhibit a striking blue color due to pressure and air absence.

Ice caves are rare natural phenomena. You will have time to explore the cave and appreciate this unique scenery.

At the end of your tour, you will return to the original departure point.
