Vatnajökull Glacier Hike

Upon booking, you can opt for the 3-hour or 5-hour route:

3-Hour Route

We'll meet in Skaftafell, where our guide will equip us with helmets, harnesses, ice axes, and crampons. After equipment is secured, we'll board a bus to the vicinity of the Vatnajökull glacier.

Upon arrival, we'll trek for around 60 to 90 minutes, discovering formations such as cracks, vertical wells, or ice tunnels (winter only). This is an unforgettable experience amidst Icelandic nature.

Finally, we'll return to our starting point after this unique experience.

5-Hour Route

The itinerary will be similar to the 3-hour route, but we will spend more time on the trekking activity. This route is suitable for more intrepid participants.

Important Info

The hikes are of medium difficulty over uneven ground. Not recommended for individuals with heart problems.For the 3-hour option, we'll hike approximately 1 hour on ice.For the 5-hour option, we'll hike on the glacier for 3 hours. This route is longer and more demanding.In winter, wear warm clothes and appropriate footwear for snow and ice. In summer, a rain jacket is recommended. Technical equipment will be provided, including helmets, crampons, and torches. Always wear hiking boots; if you don't have them, they can be rented on-site for 25 EUR.
