Vatnajökull Glacier Snowmobile Tour

Looking for a unique experience in Iceland? On this snowmobile tour of Vatnajökull, we'll drive over Iceland's largest and Europe's second-largest glacier.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the base camp located 46 km (28 miles) from Höfn to start this snowmobile ride around the Vatnajökull glacier. Following a safety briefing, we'll board the snowmobiles to explore the snowy landscape of Vatnajökull.

During the route, we'll make stops to take in the views of the glacier and surrounding snow and ice. If conditions permit, you may observe the tallest peaks in the east and south of Iceland. Along with the snowmobiling experience, we'll share stories and facts about the glacier, which has an average thickness of 400 metres (1310 feet) and surpasses other glaciers in Europe in mass.

Three hours later, we'll conclude the tour at the initial meeting point. We look forward to your participation!

Requirements

You'll ride on a double snow bike; the combined weight of both passengers must not surpass 180 kg (397 lbs).A valid driving license, equivalent to European Type B, is required.Participants must be in good physical condition.Children aged 6-12 will ride as passengers and must be accompanied by an adult.
