Description

At the indicated time, we will meet at the base camp located 46 km (28 miles) from Höfn to start the snowmobile ride around the Vatnajökull glacier. This adventure will be memorable.

After a brief safety talk, we will board the vehicle and explore the snowy landscape of Vatnajökull. Experience the thrill of driving on top of the largest glacier in Iceland.

Along the route, we will stop to enjoy stunning views of the glacier and the surrounding snow and ice. You may also see the tallest peaks in the east and south of Iceland.

In addition to the excitement of driving a snowmobile, we will share stories and facts about the glacier. Its average thickness is 400 metres (1310 feet), and its mass exceeds that of any other glacier in Europe.

Requirements

You will ride on a double snow bike, and the combined weight of both passengers must not exceed 180 kg (397 lbs).A valid driving license, equivalent to European Type B, is required.You must be in good physical condition to participate.Children aged 6-12 will ride as passengers and must always be accompanied by an adult.
