Cape Cross Seal Reserve Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your accommodation in Swakopmund at the agreed time to start our trip to the Cape Cross Seal Colony.
During our journey north, we will make stops to admire the Namibian scenery, including a visit to Henties Bay in the Free Republic of Wlotzka’s Baken.
Next, we will continue to Cape Cross, named after the stone cross placed by explorer Diego Cao in 1486, honoring King John I of Portugal.
Upon arrival at Cape Cross, you will enjoy a delicious lunch featuring Namibian dishes like fat cookies, etitis, chicken, and mopane worms.
After lunch, we will visit the Cape Cross Seal Reserve to observe over 200,000 seals. A wooden walkway allows for close views of these creatures as they sleep, play, and eat.
If you visit in November or December, you may see seal pups, as this is the birthing season for Cape fur seals.
It is advisable to bring a scarf or shawl to cover your nose, as the smell can be strong due to the large number of seals.
Finally, the tour concludes with a return to Swakopmund, dropping you off at your hotel around 5 PM.
