Spitzkoppe Day Trip
At the arranged time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Swakopmund to start our journey to a 700 million-year-old rock formation. We will first stop in Swakopmund to see the Martin Luther locomotive, over 100 years old and Namibia's first mechanical transport. Our guide will provide historical context about the train, the city, and Namibia.
Next, we will travel through the Namib Desert, enjoying the landscape where the reddish tones of the mountain meet the golden sand. We will reach the Spitzkoppe Mountain, which rises 1,728 meters above sea level and is sometimes called the Matterhorn of Namibia. These granite formations were once a refuge for the Bushmen, who left fascinating paintings.
During the trip, we will prepare a traditional meal featuring typical Namibian dishes such as fat cookies, etitis, and mopane worms, allowing you to regain energy for further exploration of Spitzkoppe. You can visit the famous stone arch for photographs.
At the end of the day, we will return to Swakopmund and drop you off at your hotel.
