Our journey begins at the designated parking area near the port of Syracuse, where we will gather at your chosen time. Here, you'll have the chance to get accustomed to the segways before embarking on an exploration of this historic Sicilian city, renowned for its rich history.
Did you know that Syracuse was regarded as the most crucial city in Sicily during the era of the Ancient Greeks? On our segway tour in Syracuse, we will delve into its intriguing Hellenistic sites, including the formidable city walls and the Temple of Apollo, the first stops on our journey.
Continuing along Corso Matteotti, we will arrive at Archimedes Square. Are you curious about the reasons behind the homage to this legendary Greek engineer and mathematician? We’ll uncover these insights during our tour!
After admiring the exquisite fountain of Artemis, we will glide to the Cathedral of Syracuse. Adjacent to this magnificent structure, we’ll also view the Benevento de Bosco Palace, an impressive baroque building from the 18th century, as well as the Town Hall. Next, we’ll make our way to the historic Maniace Castle, a military fortress dating back to the 13th century.
The tour continues toward the picturesque Lungomare di Levante, the seafront promenade. We will cross the Umberto Bridge and head towards the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Tears.
This will provide an opportunity to explore the Regional Archaeological Museum, the Catacombs of St. John, and conclude our adventure with a visit to the theatre and amphitheatre, including the intriguing Ear of Dionysius, a limestone cave steeped in history.
Our segway tour will wrap up as we return to our starting point three hours after we set off.
