Tour of Neapolis
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the entrance of the Neapolis Archaeological Park to commence our guided tour. Our journey will take us through the ruins of the most important Greek colony in the West, where notable figures like Archimedes, Plato, and Cicero once visited.
During the tour, we will visit the Latomia of Paradise, a stone quarry that houses the Ear of Dionysus, famously used as a prison for enemies. You'll have the opportunity to experience its excellent acoustics.
Next, we will proceed to the grand Greek Theater, recognized as one of the largest theaters in the world. Here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the port of Syracuse from the nymphaeum fountain.
Our final stop will be the Roman Amphitheater, constructed for gladiator fights following the town's conquest.
The tour will conclude at the starting point after an hour and a half of walking.
