On this guided tour of the Neapolis Archaeological Park, we'll visit significant monuments in Sicily and explore the traces left by the Greeks and Romans in Syracuse.

Tour of Neapolis

At the designated time, we'll meet at the entrance of the Neapolis Archaeological Park to begin our guided tour of ancient Greek and Roman Syracuse. We will enter the archaeological site and walk through the ruins of the most important Greek colony in the West, including the birthplace of Archimedes and the paths of notable figures like Plato and Cicero.

During our tour, we'll visit the Latomia of Paradise, a stone quarry featuring the renowned Ear of Dionysus, which was historically used as a prison for enemies. You'll experience its excellent acoustics and have the chance to test your singing voice.

Next, we'll proceed to the impressive Greek Theater, one of the largest theaters in the world, where we will view the nymphaeum fountain and enjoy a panoramic view of the port of Syracuse.

Finally, we'll explore the Roman Amphitheater, constructed for gladiator fights after the town's conquest. The tour will conclude back at the starting point after an hour and a half of walking.
