Arica Day Trip
At 8 am we will pick you up from your hotel in Tacna and head to Arica by bus. The journey lasts two hours, after which we will embark on a guided walking tour of the Chilean port city, known for its excellent surfing beaches.
Our first stop will be the San Marcos Cathedral, designed in metal and wood in 1876 by French architect Gustave Eiffel. The guide will share details about the cathedral’s history, including its prefabrication in Paris.
Next, we will visit the House of Culture and the Casa Bolognesi, both historically significant buildings connected to the Pacific War.
We will continue past major landmarks including the 21st May promenade. You will have half an hour of free time to have lunch and explore the area.
Afterwards, the bus will take us to Morro de Arica, where we will enjoy impressive views of the city and its coastline and learn about the Christ of Peace and the Arms Museum.
We will then visit some of Arica's beaches, including Lizera, Laucho, and Chinchorro, with an hour to relax or swim.
Finally, we will return to Tacna, arriving at your hotel around 4:30 pm.
