Moquegua Day Trip
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tacna for a 2-hour drive to Moquegua.
Upon arrival, we'll embark on a walking tour of this southeastern Peruvian city, highlighting its history predating the Incas and its typical colonial mansions showcasing Hispanic architecture and decoration.
We will visit the Plaza de Armas to see the fountain brought from Paris and the Contisuyo Museum, featuring collections from the Wari and Tiwanaku cultures, including pottery and metalworks.
Next, we will enter the Church of Santo Domingo, also known as the Matiz Church, which houses the remains of Saint Fortunata from the Vatican.
Following the church visit, we'll head to the Cristo Blanco Viewpoint for views of Moquegua, then to a restaurant for lunch to sample Moquegua's gastronomy.
We will then proceed to a wine and pisco cellar, as well as a macerados cellar to taste some fruit and syrup liqueur.
Our day trip concludes as we return to Tacna, with drop-off at your hotel by 5 pm.
