Moquegua Day Trip
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tacna for a 2-hour drive to Moquegua.
Upon arrival, we'll take a walking tour of the city, noting its history dating back before the Inca civilization and its colonial mansions featuring Hispanic architecture.
Highlights will include the Plaza de Armas, where a fountain from Paris is located, and the Contisuyo Museum, which displays collections from the Wari and Tiwanaku cultures, including pottery and precious metals.
We'll visit the Church of Santo Domingo, also known as Matiz Church, which became significant after the colonial-era cathedral was destroyed by an earthquake, and where the remains of Saint Fortunata are housed.
Next, we'll visit the Cristo Blanco Viewpoint for stunning views of Moquegua. Lunch will be available at a local restaurant, allowing time to sample Moquegua's gastronomy.
We'll then proceed to a wine and pisco cellar, along with a macerados cellar, to taste fruit and syrup liqueurs.
Our day trip concludes as we return to Tacna, with drop-off at your hotel at 5 pm.
