Day Trip to Puerto Grau, Ite Wetlands & Tacahuay Hills
Our adventure begins with a convenient pickup at 8 am from your hotel in Tacna, followed by a scenic 40-minute drive to our first highlight.
While en route, we'll pause at several points of interest. One notable stop is the Boca de Rio seaside resort, renowned for its rock formations and sandy pools. Additionally, we will explore Burros Gorge with a short 30-minute walk, offering a chance to immerse yourself in the local flora and capture beautiful moments.
Upon arrival at Puerto Grau, the prominent coastal port in this region of Peru, we’ll take a stroll to visit the Sundial. This fascinating stone clock has traditionally helped Indigenous communities keep track of time. Here, you will discover how its circular design captures sunlight to indicate the hours throughout the day.
Next, we will continue our journey to the Ite Wetlands, a biodiverse habitat that hosts over 140 bird species, including flamingos, Andean ducks, macaws, and seagulls.
After exploring the wonders of this natural paradise, we will stop in Ite for a leisurely lunch. Following that, we will make our way to the Tacahuay Hills, a stunning protected zone known for its misty landscapes, where a peaceful walk awaits.
Your exciting journey concludes as we return you to your hotel by 4 pm.
