At 8 am, pick up from your hotel in Tacna to board a bus to the province of Tarata. After an hour journey, ascend to 3500 metres (11500 ft) above sea level to visit the Apacheta lookout. Here, discover the contrasting landscape including the inter Andean valleys, Yucatamani volcanoes, Tutupaca, and the Cordillera del Barroso.

At the viewpoint, experience a typical offering ceremony to the Earth, akin to the traditions of the ancestors.

Next, visit Tarucachi, a colonial church similar to Tarata church, featuring colonial mestizo style decoration with natural dyes.

Then, arrive in Tarata to walk to the main square and church. Continue to the Santa Maria Inca trail for stunning views of Tarata and the Qala Qala caves, a sacred site.

The tour proceeds by bus to the Titaco thermal baths, where you can enjoy the baths at leisure in a relaxing environment after a day of exploring.

Following the thermal baths, lunch will be at a local restaurant, returning to Tacna and dropping you off at your hotels by 5 pm.
