4-day tour
Day 1: Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata
On the first day, pickup is from the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado. After an introduction to the itinerary, we will drive for two hours into the Amazon Rainforest. We will reach the Tambopata River and board a boat to the lodge. After settling in and lunch, enjoy a guided walk around the jungle.
Day 2: Macaw Clay Lick
Early morning departure to El Chuncho, the largest macaw clay lick, with a 1.5-hour boat trip. Observe wildlife such as capybaras and jaguars. After viewing the macaws, visit a botanic garden followed by lunch. The afternoon includes kayaking on the River Tambopata.
Day 3: Monkey Island
The day starts with a jungle walk to see 500-year-old trees. After a two-hour walk, return for lunch. In the afternoon, cross the Madre de Dios River to Monkey Island to see different monkey species. At night, search for caimans for photos before returning for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Canopy Walk
On the fourth day, we will walk on the hanging bridges of the Canopy Walk for views from 30 metres (100 feet) up in the trees. After this, return to Puerto Maldonado, concluding the tour at 9:30 am.
5-day tour
The 5-day tour follows the same itinerary for the first three days. On the fourth day, hike around Lake Sandoval and explore its waters by traditional canoe. After sunset, engage in a night walk. Day 5 includes the Canopy Walk before returning to Puerto Maldonado.
