4-day tour

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata

We will pick you up from the airport or bus station in Puerto Maldonado and transport you to the starting point of the tour. After an introduction to the itinerary, we will travel by all-terrain vehicle for two hours into the Amazon Rainforest. We will board a boat to the lodge where we will stay for the next days. After settling into our cabins and enjoying lunch, we will take a walk around the jungle to observe animals in their natural habitat, followed by free time.

Day 2: Macaw Clay Lick

We will depart early for El Chuncho, the largest macaw clay lick in the world. This includes a 1.5-hour boat trip to observe local wildlife such as capybaras, jaguars, and tapirs. We will visit the clay walls to witness 11 species of macaw. After lunch, you may kayak in the River Tambopata to spot larger animals.

Day 3: Monkey Island

This day includes a jungle walk to see trees over 500 years old before heading to Monkey Island to observe Gracile capuchin and Guianan squirrel monkeys. At night, we will search for caimans for photos before returning for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Canopy Walk

On the final day, we will walk around the hanging bridges on the Canopy Walk for views over the treetops. After this, we will return to Puerto Maldonado, concluding the tour at 9:30 am.

5-day tour

The 5-day tour follows the same itinerary as the 4-day tour for the first three days. On day four, we will hike around Lake Sandoval, explore the waters in a traditional canoe, and go on a night walk. On day five, we will visit the Canopy Walk before heading back to Puerto Maldonado.

Pickup will be from the bus station or Puerto Maldonado Airport, with timing depending on your flight.
