Lake Sandoval Amazon Trek
Pickup from your hotel will occur for the trip to Tambopata National Reserve, just a 10-minute drive away. After entering the area known as the gateway to the Amazon, we'll start our trek on dry land, covering approximately three kilometers through Amazonian flora and fauna. Expect to encounter monkeys, reptiles, Ara parrots, and hawks.
Following the trek, we will board a canoe to explore Lake Sandoval, part of the Tambopata National Reserve. This area is noted for its biodiversity, where you may see giant river otters and black caimans. We will have lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying a typical Peruvian meal before returning to Puerto Maldonado. The entire experience lasts about 8 hours from pickup to drop-off at your hotel.
