Lake Sandoval Amazon Trek
We'll pick you up from your hotel and head to the Tambopata National Reserve, located just a 10-minute drive away. We will navigate through the area known as the gateway to the Amazon, and then we'll begin our trek on dry land. For approximately three kilometers, we will trek through Amazonian flora and fauna, encountering monkeys, reptiles, Ara parrots, and hawks.
After this route through the rainforest, we'll board a canoe to discover Lake Sandoval, part of the Tambopata National Reserve. From the water, we'll explore one of Peru's most important protected areas and spot unique species such as giant river otters and black caimans.
We'll enjoy a typical Peruvian lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Puerto Maldonado. We will drop you back at your hotel about 8 hours after pickup.
