Loero Amazonian Community Multi-Day Visit
2-day visit
Day 1
Upon arrival at the airport in Puerto Maldonado or your hotel, you'll be transferred to the Loero community. You'll engage in daily tasks with a local family, focusing on planting crops such as papaya, corn, banana, or cassava, followed by traditional food.
Day 2
After breakfast, you'll spend the morning picking fruit from the fields. Depending on your bus or flight schedule, you may also want to fish in the Amazon River. The tour concludes with a transfer back to the airport, bus station, or hotel in Puerto Maldonado.
4-day visit
Days 1-2
The first two days mirror the 2-day itinerary. After lunch on the second day, you may accompany your hosts to fish in the Amazon River and, optionally, swim.
Day 3
This day will involve visiting other farming families and exploring the Tambopata Corridor, including a rescue center for Amazonian fauna and learning about the use of medicinal plants. Participation in an ayahuasca ceremony is optional.
Day 4
After concluding your experience, you'll say goodbye to the local family before being taken to the airport or your hotel in Puerto Maldonado.
Accommodation
The tour includes 1 or 3 nights of full-board accommodation in the home of a local family in the Loero community. Prices are per person in a double room.
Important
For arrival, be in Puerto Maldonado by 7 am or stay overnight in a hotel. The journey to Loero takes about 2 hours. The return transfer is scheduled 4 hours prior to your flight or 3 hours before a bus departure. Early flights may limit activities on the second day, so a 4 pm flight is recommended for the 2-day tour. The 4-day tour has no activities on the last day, avoiding any scheduling conflicts.
