Loero Amazonian Community Multi-Day Visit

2-day visit

Day 1

Upon your arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport or hotel, you will be transferred to the community of Loero. You'll engage in daily tasks, starting with planting crops such as papaya, corn, banana, or cassava, followed by a traditional meal.

Day 2

After breakfast, the morning will be spent picking fruit. Depending on your departure details, you may also have time for fishing in the Amazon River. Finally, you will be taken to the airport, bus station, or your hotel in Puerto Maldonado.

4-day visit

Days 1-2

The first two days follow the same itinerary as the 2-day tour. After lunch on the second day, you may go fishing or swimming in the Amazon River.

Day 3

This day is for visiting other farming families and exploring the Tambopata Corridor. Activities include visiting a rescue center for Amazonian fauna and learning about medicinal plants, with the option to participate in an ayahuasca ceremony.

Day 4

After the experience, you will bid farewell and be taken to the airport for your flight or return to your hotel in Puerto Maldonado.

Accommodation

The tour includes 1 or 3 nights of full-board accommodation in a local family's home, priced per person in a double room.

Important

Arrival time: To begin activities at 7 am, arrive in Puerto Maldonado by this time or stay overnight at a hotel. Travel to Loero community takes about 2 hours.

Departure time: Return transfer is 4 hours before your flight, or 3 hours before bus departure. For the 2-day tour, choose a flight after 4 pm to avoid missing activities. Afternoon buses allow for additional activities post-lunch, which is not an issue for the 4-day tour as there are no scheduled activities on the last day.
