Experience the incredible wildlife of Puerto Maldonado on this unique tour: watch vividly colorful macaws feed on a clay lick at sunrise.

Parrot Clay Lick Tour

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado at 3 am and take you to the Tambopata River, 2 hours away by car. Once we arrive, we'll enter the Tambopata National Reserve.

As you drive around the river, enjoy the emergence of sunrise over Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon Jungle.

At El Chuncho clay lick, you'll wait to see the brightly colored macaws feed on the clay wall. Spend an hour observing various species of parrot and macaw interact with the colpa.

After the clay lick visit, we'll head towards a lodge in the reserve, potentially encountering local wildlife such as sloths, capybaras, tapirs, and deer.

Upon reaching the hacienda, we'll have a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we'll take a short walk around the hacienda before returning to Puerto Maldonado to drop you off at your hotel around 3 pm.

This activity includes pick-up from hotels in Puerto Maldonado. If you are staying outside the city, there will be an additional cost of between 50 and 70 USD, depending on your location, to be paid on the day of the activity.
