Peruvian Jungle Multi-Day Tour

If you want to learn all about the beauty of the Peruvian jungle, this 2 or 3-day tour of the Isla de Monos and Lake Sandoval is for you. You'll spend unforgettable days in the Tambopata National Reserve.

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Isla de Monos

You will be collected from your Puerto Maldonado hotel and transported to the Tambopata River. After two hours, you will switch from a 4x4 to a boat that will take you to your hotel. After dropping off your luggage, the group will have lunch, followed by a visit to Isla de los Monos, a rescue center for endangered primates. You will learn about the species and their care, and have the opportunity to feed them. Following this visit, a search for white caymans in the Madre de Dios River will occur. You may also spot the capibara. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 2: Lake Sandoval – Puerto Maldonado

After breakfast, you will trek through the jungle to Lake Sandoval, known for its piranha habitat. A boat ride will follow, showcasing local fauna including cormorants, herons, pumas, monkeys, sloths, and giant nutria. After the boat ride, you will return to the hotel for lunch before heading back to Puerto Maldonado, concluding the trip around 5 pm.

3-Day Tour

The 3-day option replaces the second day with a nighttime hike to explore nocturnal insects and animals. On the third day, you will experience the Tambopata Canopy Walkway at dawn, 30 meters above the ground, observing the jungle and its birds. After breakfast, you will be taken back to Puerto Maldonado, concluding the trip by about 9 am.

Tour Accommodation

This tour includes 1 or 2 nights of accommodation at the Monte Amazónico-Tambopata Lodge.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pick-up from hotels in Puerto Maldonado. For those staying outside the city, a pick-up fee of 50 to 70 USD applies, payable on the day of the activity.
