Peruvian Jungle Multi-Day Tour

If you want to learn all about the sheer beauty of the Peruvian jungle, this 2 or 3-day tour of the Isla de Monos and Lake Sandoval is for you. You'll spend an unforgettable few days in the Tambopata National Reserve.

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Isla de Monos

At the scheduled time, you'll be collected from your Puerto Maldonado hotel and taken to the banks of the Tambopata River. After a two-hour journey, you will switch from a 4x4 to a boat that will transport you to the hotel for your first night. Following lunch at the hotel, you'll visit Isla de los Monos, a rescue center for endangered primates where you’ll learn about different species and have the opportunity to feed them. Subsequently, you will search for white caymans along the Madre de Dios River and may see the capibara. Dinner will be served at your lodge before resting for the night.

Day 2: Lake Sandoval – Puerto Maldonado

After breakfast, you'll trek through the Tambopata jungle to Lake Sandoval, known for its piranha habitat. A boat ride will showcase various animals, including cormorants, herons, pumas, monkeys, sloths, and giant nutria. Once the boat ride concludes, you'll return to your hotel for lunch. The tour will end in Puerto Maldonado around 5 pm.

3-Day Tour

The 3-day tour includes a nighttime hike on the second day to explore nocturnal wildlife. On the third day, you’ll experience the Tambopata Canopy Walkway at dawn, 30 meters above the ground, observing the jungle and various bird species. After breakfast at the lodge, you will return to Puerto Maldonado, concluding the trip around 5 pm.

Tour Accommodation

This tour includes 1 or 2 nights of accommodation at the Monte Amazónico-Tambopata Lodge.

Hotel Pickup

Hotel pick-up is included from locations in Puerto Maldonado. For hotels outside the city, an additional pick-up fee of 50 to 70 USD applies, payable on the day of the activity.
