Piranha Fishing and Bird Watching Tour

If you want a true, authentic experience of the Amazon Rainforest, this is the tour for you! You'll fish for piranhas like the locals, using traditional techniques and admire the multitude of birds living in their natural environment. A not-to-be-missed experience!

Description

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado to start the 30-minute journey to the gateway to the Peruvian rainforest. After admiring the surrounding lakes and palm trees, we'll climb into our canoe, heading into the heart of the Madre de Díos River. Then we'll start piranha fishing, a typical activity in this area. Let's see how many you catch!

We'll continue our canoe trip and then head close to the emblematic Clay Lick. We'll stop close by for half an hour to enjoy lunch and see hundreds of birds feeding on the salts and minerals provided by the clay. Afterward, we'll return to where we started and finish the tour by dropping you back at your hotel 3 hours later.
