Description

Day 1

Pick up at the airport in Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the river port to board a large boat. Enjoy a picnic on board while admiring the landscapes. The journey ends at a jungle lodge with a welcome drink. After a rest, attend a talk by a local naturalist on endangered species in the Tambopata National Reserve. Dinner at the hotel followed by an evening canoe ride to see alligators.

Day 2

Early breakfast followed by a 1-kilometre (0.6 mile) walk to Tres Chimbadas Lake, home of the Tambopata Giant Otters. After a canoe trip across the lake, enjoy a picnic and visit the highest wildlife observation tower in the Amazon at 46 metres (150 feet). Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the Puerto Maldonado airport based on your flight schedule.

4 Day Tour with Parrot Watching

This itinerary follows the same schedule as the 3-day tour on the first and third days. On the second day, visit the Tambopata parrot colpa, a red clay wall populated by various exotic birds. Picnic and enjoy views from the observation tower before returning for dinner and a night walk through the jungle.

4 Day Tour with Otter & Parrot Watching

This version follows the same route on the first day. Second day focuses on observing giant otters on Lake Cocococha and views from the observation tower. The Tambopata parrot colpa is visited on the third day. On the fourth day, breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport.

Includes 2 or 3 nights accommodation at the Explorer's Inn Tambopata Ecolodge with full board provided (all meals included).
