Description

Day 1

We'll pick you up at the airport in Puerto Maldonado and head to the river port to board a large boat. We will enjoy a picnic on board while cruising along the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers to reach a jungle lodge, where we'll receive a welcome drink. After a rest, a local naturalist will give a talk on endangered species of the Tambopata National Reserve. We'll have dinner and then take an evening canoe ride to see alligators before returning to the hotel for the night.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, we'll walk 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) to Tres Chimbadas Lake to see Tambopata Giant Otters. Following a short canoe ride, we'll enjoy lunch and visit the highest wildlife observation tower in the Amazon at 46 meters (150 feet). We will return to the hotel for dinner and rest.

Day 3

After breakfast, we will take you to the Puerto Maldonado airport based on your flight schedule.

4 Day Tour with Parrot Watching

This itinerary includes the same activities on the first and third days as the previous tour. On the second day, after breakfast, we'll visit the Tambopata parrot colpa, a red clay wall frequented by exotic birds. After another picnic, we'll enjoy views from the observation tower and return for dinner and a short night jungle walk.

4 Day Tour with Otter & Parrot Watching

This itinerary mirrors the 3-day tour on the first day. Day two will focus on observing giant otters on Lake Cocococha before visiting the observation tower. Day three is dedicated to the Tambopata parrot colpa. On the fourth day, we'll have breakfast and then travel to the Puerto Maldonado airport.

Accommodation

This tour includes 2 or 3 nights accommodation at the Explorer's Inn Tambopata Ecolodge with full board service.
