Tambopata Tour Package: 7 Days

Day 1

After picking you up from the Puerto Maldonado airport, we'll head to the river port for a canoe ride along the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers. A picnic on board will allow us to discover local fauna around the Tambopata Nature Reserve. The day concludes at our accommodation in Tambopata for the next 6 nights, followed by an evening walk to observe nocturnal animals.

Day 2

Following an early breakfast, we'll sail to the Tambopata clay lick to view exotic Amazonian birds, particularly parrots and macaws. After lunch, a 20-minute walk to Laguna Chica will enable us to spot various toucans. The day ends with dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

We'll explore the Tambopata trail forests on a 6-kilometer (3 miles) trek, observing the habitat of local birds. A picnic will be enjoyed in nature, and we'll see birds including the red-billed tanager. Return to the hotel by 4 pm for free time.

Day 4

After breakfast, we'll climb the highest birding tower in the Amazon at 46 meters (150 feet) for views of the reserve. After lunch, a walk to Laguna Chica will present peacocks and yellow woodpeckers. Dinner at the lodge will conclude the day.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, we’ll walk 5 kilometers (3 miles) to Lake Cocococha at dawn, ideal for viewing low-flying birds. Post picnic, return to the hotel by 4 pm. A special night canoe trip to search for Tambopata alligators is available after dinner.

Day 6

This day is dedicated to exploring other areas of the trail that have not been previously visited to see more exotic birds.

Day 7

After breakfast, we will transfer you to the Puerto Maldonado airport, ensuring ample time for your flight.

This tour includes 6 nights accommodation at the Explorer's Inn Tambopata Ecolodge, with full board (all meals included).
