Whether you're a history buff or are looking for an unforgettable plan, this day trip to Syracuse and Ortigia Island from Taormina is the perfect combination. We'll walk around an old town declared a World Heritage Site!

Syracuse and Ortigia Day Trip

At the indicated time we'll meet at the Taormina bus station and board a vehicle that will take us to Syracuse. The journey by road will take about an hour and a half.

The first visit of the excursion will be to the Neapolis Archaeological Park, where we'll stroll through the remains of Greek civilisation. Inside you'll discover a Greek theatre, a Roman amphitheatre, ruins of altars or temples, and the latomias, ancient stone quarries.

We'll then return to the vehicle and head for Ortigia, the old town of Syracuse, also a World Heritage Site.

As you walk around Ortigia, you'll see the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the Cathedral, the Font of Arethusa, and other emblematic sites. You'll have an hour and a half of free time to enjoy local food.

Our day trip will conclude after 10 hours by dropping you back to the starting point.
