Day Trip to Syracuse and Ortigia

We will convene at the bus station in Taormina at the designated time, where we will embark on a journey to Syracuse, a ride that will take roughly an hour and a half.

The first stop on our itinerary will be the remarkable Neapolis Archaeological Park. Here, we will immerse ourselves in the vestiges of Greek civilization. Among the highlights is a Greek theatre, renowned as one of the most significant entertainment venues of its era. Additionally, we will observe a Roman amphitheatre, remnants of revered altars and temples, as well as the ancient stone quarries known as latomias. It's a truly captivating site!

Continuing our adventure, we will return to our vehicle and proceed to Ortigia, the historic heart of Syracuse. The area, rich in architectural and cultural treasures, has also been designated a World Heritage Site.

As we wander through the charming streets of Ortigia, you'll encounter significant landmarks such as the Temple of Apollo, which dates back to the 6th century BC, the stunning Cathedral, and the picturesque Fountain of Arethusa, among other notable sites. You will also have an hour and a half of leisure time to indulge in the local cuisine and savor the delightful dishes that Ortigia has to offer.

Your day trip will conclude after approximately 10 hours, as we return to the original meeting point.
