Valley of the Temples + Roman Villa of Casale Day Trip

Meet us at the Taormina bus station to start the day trip. Our first stop is at Agrigento, home to the Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

We will visit notable landmarks including the Temple of Juno and Temple of Concordia, which houses a paleochristian necropolis. Additionally, we’ll explore the Temple of Heracles and the ruins of the Temple of Zeus. The tour will also include the Temples of Castor and Pollux. After the site visit, there will be an hour of free time for lunch at local restaurants.

After lunch, we will continue to Piazza Armerina to visit the Roman Villa of Casale, which was excavated in the 1950s by Gino Vinicio Gentili. The villa features an array of vibrant mosaics, including a unique depiction of women engaging in sports such as disc throwing and lifting weights.

After 12 hours of exploring the history of the Valley of the Temples and the Roman Villa of Casale, we will return to the meeting point to conclude the day.
