Chazuta Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Tarapoto and head south to Chazuta, where we'll take a guided walking tour.
Chazuta, known as the land of friendship, has residents primarily engaged in pottery and agriculture, focusing on corn, yucca, and cocoa. A delicious chocolate workshop will be included, where local women will share the process of making some of the finest chocolate in Peru, and participants will have the opportunity to taste it.
Following this, we will proceed to Shapaja for lunch, which will consist of a main course and a drink, accompanied by views of the Huallaga River. After lunch, we will visit the Washichay Interpretation Center, a museum that showcases native and ancestral art of Chazuta. The tour will also include a stop at the Plaza de Armas, the main square of Chazuta, serving as a picturesque conclusion to the day.
The 9-hour excursion will conclude with your return to your hotel in Tarapoto.
