Chazuta Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Tarapoto and head south to Chazuta, where we'll take a guided walking tour.
Chazuta is known as the land of friendship due to the welcoming nature of its locals, many of whom are involved in pottery or agriculture, primarily cultivating corn, yucca, and cocoa. A chocolate workshop will follow, where local women will share the secrets of making some of the tastiest chocolate in Peru, with tasting included.
Next, we'll travel to Shapaja for lunch, featuring a main course and a drink, while enjoying views of the Huallaga River. After lunch, we'll visit the Washichay Interpretation Center, a museum focused on the native and ancestral art of Chazuta. The tour concludes at the Plaza de Armas, Chazuta's main square, a fitting end to our experience.
The total duration of this excursion is 9 hours, after which we will return you to your hotel in Tarapoto.
