Chazuta Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Tarapoto and head south to Chazuta, where we'll take a guided walking tour.
Known as the land of friendship for the locals' welcoming character, most people in Chazuta work in pottery or agriculture. The main crops include corn, yucca, and cocoa. A delicious chocolate workshop is included, where local women will teach us about how one of the tastiest chocolates in Peru is made and provide tasting opportunities.
Next, we'll proceed to Shapaja for lunch, which includes a main course and a drink, while enjoying views of the Huallaga River. After lunch, we'll visit the Washichay Interpretation Center, a museum showcasing the native and ancestral art of Chazuta. Our final stop will be the Plaza de Armas, Chazuta's main square.
This 9-hour excursion will conclude with a return to your hotel in Tarapoto.
