Day Trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve + Canoe Ride

On this day trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve, you will explore ecotourism in the San Martín region and enjoy a canoe ride through a unique wetland ecosystem.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, transportation will be provided from your hotel in Tarapoto to Moyobamba. The journey lasts approximately 3 hours, after which you will board a motorised canoe to reach the Tingana Ecological Reserve's entrance.

Upon arrival, you will be served a traditional regional breakfast amid lush vegetation. You will then embark on a motorised canoe ride through the flooded forest of the Avisado River, observing various animals within the palm and banyan trees, known locally as "walking trees." These trees provide habitats for snakes, otters, and frogs.

After 3 hours of exploration, a typical regional lunch will be provided, featuring locally sourced products. You will then have 2.5 hours of free time to further explore the reserve and look for various amphibian species camouflaged in the jungle.

Your return journey to Tarapoto will conclude with drop-off at your hotel after a total of 15 hours.
