Day Trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve + Canoe Ride

On this day trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve, you'll discover the wonders of ecotourism in the San Martín region. You'll also go on a canoe ride through a unique wetland ecosystem.

Day Trip Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto at the designated time to travel to Moyobamba. This journey will take approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival at the port, you will board a motorised canoe to reach the Tingana Ecological Reserve entrance.

Once in Tingana, a traditional regional breakfast will be served amidst lush vegetation. After breakfast, you will embark on a motorised canoe ride through the flooded forest of the Avisado River, where wildlife resides among palm and banyan trees. These trees provide habitat for various species such as snakes, otters, and frogs.

After 3 hours of exploration, there will be a stop for a typical regional lunch, prepared with local ingredients. Following lunch, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve and look for different amphibian species in the jungle.

Finally, we will return to Tarapoto, concluding the trip at your hotel after a total of 15 hours.
