Day Trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve + Canoe Ride

On this day trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve, you'll explore ecotourism in the San Martín region and enjoy a canoe ride through a unique wetland ecosystem.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto for our journey to Moyobamba. After a 3-hour trip, we'll arrive at the port and board a motorised canoe to the entrance of the Tingana Ecological Reserve.

Upon arrival at Tingana, we'll have a traditional regional breakfast amidst lush vegetation. Afterward, we'll begin our motorised canoe ride through the flooded forest of the Avisado River, observing wildlife among the palm and banyan trees that house snakes, otters, and frogs.

Following 3 hours of exploration, we will enjoy a typical regional lunch made with local ingredients. You will then have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve and spot various amphibians in the jungle.

Finally, we will return to Tarapoto, concluding the trip with drop-off at your hotel after a total of 15 hours.
